Arizona State Sen. Christine Marsh (D-Phoenix) voted against a bill that would require public schools to provide private showers to crossdressing students.

The bill, SB 1182, passed on a straight party-line vote, with all Republicans voting yes and all "no" votes coming from Democrats

Sponsored by Sen. John Kavanagh (R-Fountain Hills), SB 1182 would require a public school to "provide access to a single-occupancy or employee shower room to a person who is unwilling or unable to use a multioccupancy shower room designated for the person's sex and submits satisfactory evidence to the school."

This bill now heads to the House for consideration.

Marsh is a native of Phoenix, Arizona.

Marsh represents Arizona as State Senator of District 4, where she is running for re-election in 2024.
