For over ten years, the Fetch Foundation has partnered with Phoenix Fire to save animals lives. The local non-profit 501(c)3 organization provides programs that rescue orphaned dogs and allow them to live a life of purpose. Fetch also prides itself in supporting first responders with lifesaving tools for animals, known as FIDO Bags. These bags contain supplies for firefighters to help animals that have been involved in emergencies including fires.

The bags contain a variety of items including gloves, medical tape, oxygen masks created to fit over the muzzle of an animal, and a CD to ensure proper use.

On Friday, the local nonprofit showed its continued commitment by contributing 28 new FIDO bags to Phoenix Fire. The 28 new FIDO bags will be distributed across the fire stations across Phoenix to resupply engines, ladders, and ambulances. This new batch of lifesaving equipment will ensure at least one FIDO bag is present at each Phoenix Fire Station.

During Friday's media event, the Fetch Foundation acknowledged the city of Phoenix's growth and increase in call volume for Phoenix firefighters. As a result, the non-profit wants to ensure first responders are equipped with the proper lifesaving tools for animals.

“Back in the day, firefighters would go in an find an animal terribly compromised and say they were terribly sorry," Marie Peck from the Fetch Foundation added. “Now, they have the tools to save these animals and give it their best."

Phoenix Fire and the United Phoenix Firefighter Charities are proud to partner with the Fetch Foundation to help accomplish their goal of placing FIDO Bags in every fire station in the nation.
