The Phoenix Police Department took part in National Faith & Blue Weekend over the course of last weekend, which is a string of events aiming to bring police officers and the community together.

On Friday, Oct. 9, the department took part in Building Bridges with our Sikh Community to learn about the Police Chief’s SikhAdvisory Board and the history behind it, according to a press release from the city.

On Saturday, the Phoenix Police Department took part in three events: Faith and Justice Project Joint Intercessor Prayer Service, Healthy Giving Council and Phoenix PD and LGBTQ Faith Community Discussion.

On Oct. 11, the police department took part in the last event: Connecting on the North Side – Servant Leadership within Black Mountain Precinct, which was a discussion between public service and faith leaders.

“‘National Faith & Blue Weekend is happening in cities across the country and was co-convened by MovementForward, Inc.'s One Congregation One Precinct initiative and the USDOJ Office of Community Oriented Policing Services,” the city said in the press release.
