Ottawa University-Phoenix issued the following announcement on Jan. 11

Saturday gave the OUAZ women's basketball team a chance to get back into the win column on the road at San Diego Christian. Not only did the Spirit get the victory they wanted, but they did it in record breaking fashion.

Natasa Radovic had 20 points and 15 rebounds for her third double-double in four games, and Kirsten Shinske added 19 points in the Spirit's 75-53 win over the Hawks on Saturday afternoon. OUAZ now improves its record to 9-4, and its Golden State Athletic Conference record to 2-3.

The 22-point victory for the Spirit is the largest win margin over an opponent in program history. The previous record is 15 points, which was set against San Diego Christian on Dec. 29, 2017.

Radovic made her mark in many categories once again, as she also had three assists, two blocks and a steal. She shot 8-16 from the field, which marks her third consecutive contests in which Radovic has shot 50% or higher on field goal attempts.

Shinske grabbed six rebounds to go along with her points contribution and played clean defense, as she did not pick up a personal foul in 36 minutes. Kasey Harper had a solid performance as well, scoring 11 points and five rebounds in 31 minutes on the floor.

The Hawks had three players score in double digits, with Hannah Myers leading the way. She put up 12 points, snagged seven boards, as well as getting two assists and a block.

The Spirit will return to Faith Arena on Jan. 16 when they host Hope International. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 5pm MST.
