Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, a U.S. Representative from Arizona, posted a series of statements on her social media account on March 11, 2026, addressing foreign policy concerns and immigration issues.
In a post made early that morning, Ansari referenced discussions in a recent classified congressional briefing. She wrote: “This is also what we heard in the classified briefing for Members of Congress last week. I raised concerns about reports of the US funding militant groups and asked directly what the plan is for a democratic transition in Iran. The response: ‘That is not part of the mission.'” (March 11, 2026).
Later that day, Ansari invited constituents to an event focused on civil rights amid ongoing immigration enforcement actions in Arizona. She stated: “Join me and @ACLUaz this Thursday for a ‘Know Your Rights’ tele-town hall. As ICE continues to terrorize communities across Arizona, I want to ensure every Arizonan knows their rights and is up to date on what I’m doing in Washington to fight Trump’s hateful mass deportation” (March 11, 2026).
In another post that afternoon, Ansari commented on international asylum policy regarding Iranian athletes and criticized U.S. visa restrictions under former President Trump’s administration. She wrote: “This is incredible news—Australia granting asylum to members of Iran’s women’s soccer team protects them from persecution by the brutal Islamic Republic. Meanwhile, the Trump administration continues to ban visas for Iranian asylum seekers, and has deported hundreds who could” (March 11, 2026).
Ansari was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Jeff Zink with over seventy percent of the vote.
