Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, who began her first term in the U.S. House of Representatives after winning the 2024 general election against Jeff Zink with 70.9% of the vote, has addressed several issues on her official social media account in recent days.
On December 17, 2025, Ansari criticized a fellow member of Congress for divisive rhetoric, stating: “At a moment that demands leadership, @RepFine has instead escalated shockingly racist, Islamophobic rhetoric. It’s egregious and dangerous.
We can and must confront antisemitism without fueling further hate. Our country deserves better from its leaders.”
Later that same day, Ansari announced progress on healthcare legislation: “BIG NEWS: @HouseDemocrats discharge petition to extend ACA tax credits by 3 years has enough signatures. @SpeakerJohnson must bring this to a vote on the House floor NOW.
People cannot wait to have healthcare that could save their lives or the lives of their loved ones.” The discharge petition referenced would allow for a vote on extending Affordable Care Act tax credits if brought to the floor by Speaker Johnson.
In another post summarizing her first year in office, Ansari wrote: “My first year in Congress: 20 bills, 13 town halls, 400+ funding requests, and a relentless fight to protect immigrants, lower costs, and hold Trump’s corrupt, authoritarian administration accountable.
See you in 2026, Arizona! We’re just getting started.”
Ansari’s victory over Zink in the previous election secured her seat representing Arizona. Her public statements reflect ongoing engagement with both legislative initiatives and national political discourse.
