Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari has used her social media platform to highlight concerns about U.S. immigration detention and ongoing international conflict, according to a series of posts published in early April 2026.
On April 2, 2026, Ansari posted: “Emmanuel Damas is one of 46 people who have died in ICE custody since the beginning of the second Trump Administration. What’s happening inside ICE detention centers is sickening. We must continue to conduct oversight and expose them to the American people.”
Later that day, she encouraged followers to join an oversight briefing on detention centers, stating: “Tune in soon to my ‘Stop Mass Detention Centers’ oversight community briefing with @Rep_Grijalva “ (April 2, 2026).
The following morning, Ansari addressed an unspecified conflict by writing: “War crime after war crime after war crime. Now’s the time to speak up if you’re against this reckless war of choice. The consequences will be vast and catastrophic.” (April 3, 2026).
Yassamin Ansari was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Jeff Zink in the general election by a significant margin, receiving over 70% of the vote.
