Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, who won the 2024 general election against Jeff Zink with 70.9% of the vote, posted a series of tweets on December 30 and 31, 2025, addressing immigration enforcement actions and U.S. foreign policy.
On December 30, Ansari wrote: “Trump’s ICE detained Flor—a DACA recipient, mother, and sole provider for her kids—in my district on Christmas Eve. Their cruelty is sickening. We demand her immediate release.”
Later that evening, she added: “They’re pathological liars and as incompetent as it gets “ in a separate post.
On December 31, Ansari commented on foreign affairs: “Trump has launched an illegal regime change war in Venezuela that has absolutely nothing to do with fentanyl, and a lot to do with oil and making his billionaire friends richer.”
Ansari’s statements reflect ongoing debates over immigration policy and U.S. involvement in international conflicts. She currently represents her district after defeating Jeff Zink by a wide margin in the last general election.
