Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, who won her seat in 2024 by defeating Jeff Zink with 70.9% of the vote, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from military authority to clean energy policy.

On December 16, 2025, Ansari questioned the implications of the Trump administration’s actions toward political opponents and service members. She wrote, “If the Trump regime is willing to go this far to silence @SenMarkKelly, imagine how they’d treat everyday service members who may speak truth to power.”

Later that day, she criticized former President Donald Trump’s approach to military intervention and executive power. In her post dated December 16, 2025, Ansari stated, “Presidents are not kings and cannot declare war or seek regime change in foreign capitals without coming to Congress first. Donald Trump’s military strikes are illegal, reckless, and without doubt unconstitutional.”

In a subsequent message on December 16, 2025, Ansari discussed her legislative work on geothermal permitting and addressed the broader debate over clean energy policy. She reported participation in a Natural Resources Democrats hearing on her bill: “I was just at an @NRDems hearing on my bill that identifies best practices for efficient and environmentally responsible geothermal permitting. Attacks on clean energy are costing Americans, killing hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs, and intensifying the climate crisis.”

Ansari’s recent statements come after her decisive victory over Jeff Zink in the 2024 general election.
