Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, who represents Arizona and won her seat in 2024 by defeating Jeff Zink with 70.9% of the vote, has recently posted a series of statements on social media regarding legislative actions in Congress and local water conservation efforts.
On April 30, 2026, Ansari criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Republicans for their handling of funding legislation. She wrote, “.@SpeakerJohnson is so bad at his job. A month ago, House Republicans voted down a Senate-passed bill to fund FEMA, TSA, and the Coast Guard, without more money for ICE. Today, they voted for it. The delay was inexcusable and shameful.”
Later that same day, she continued her criticism of Republican leadership with another post: “Republicans can’t get their shit together. Here’s some of the madness that went down this week.”
The following day, May 1, Ansari shifted focus to local issues and expressed appreciation for regional water management authorities. She stated: “I’m grateful to the Central Arizona Water Conservation District board for their work in overseeing the Central Arizona Project, which supplies water to many regions in Arizona. I look forward to working with them to ensure that water continues to be the lifeblood of our most”
Yassamin Ansari secured her congressional seat by a wide margin in 2024 after defeating Jeff Zink in the general election with over 70 percent of the vote.
The Central Arizona Water Conservation District oversees the Central Arizona Project, a major system delivering water across multiple regions within Arizona.
