Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari, who represents her district after winning the 2024 general election against Jeff Zink with 70.9% of the vote, addressed several issues on her Twitter account on May 31, 2026.

In a post published at 00:47 UTC, Ansari called for accountability regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case, stating, “We must ensure there’s accountability not just for those who perpetrated or enabled Epstein’s crimes, but for those still engaging in this cover up.”

Later that day at 02:14 UTC, she reflected on her recent staff retreat in Phoenix: “This week, I hosted my first staff retreat with my D.C. and district teams in Phoenix. We heard from community leaders, met directly with constituents, and talked about the issues families are facing every day. I’m incredibly grateful for this team and excited about the work”.

At 14:59 UTC, Ansari criticized private prison companies in another tweet: “GEO Group and CoreCivic are the two private prison giants making billions of dollars as they physically and psychologically torture tens of thousands of people in detention every day. It’s a moral stain on our country. We need to end for-profit detention in the United States NOW.”

Ansari’s statements come nearly two years after her decisive victory over Jeff Zink in the 2024 general election, where she secured more than 70% of the vote.
