Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari has addressed recent events and ongoing political issues in a series of posts on her official X account. Ansari, who won the 2024 general election against Jeff Zink with 70.9% of the vote, commented on a violent incident in Manchester and criticized the current government shutdown.
On October 2, 2025, Ansari reacted to reports of an attack at a synagogue in Manchester, posting: “The horrific synagogue attack in Manchester is another reminder of the rise in hate-fueled violence. For this to happen on Yom Kippur is heartbreaking. The freedom to worship without fear is non-negotiable—we must confront and defeat this hate everywhere.”
Later that day, she invited constituents to participate in a live Tele Town Hall scheduled for that evening. In her post from October 3, 2025, she wrote: “Tune into our live Tele Town Hall at 6pm MST—TONIGHT! Join by dialing (833) 479-1987. We’re taking your questions and talking about how to fight back against the Republican shutdown.”
Following the event, Ansari posted about concerns raised during the town hall regarding the ongoing government shutdown. On October 3, 2025, she stated: “The Trump shutdown is authoritarian politics hurting real people. Tonight I heard from a teacher struggling with healthcare costs, a senior worried about Social Security, parents fearing ICE. We’re fighting back.”
Ansari’s comments come as she continues her role representing her district after securing a decisive victory over Jeff Zink in the previous year’s general election.
