Warren Petersen, a Republican elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2023 representing the state’s 14th Senate District, posted a series of statements on social media following news regarding Charlie Kirk.
On September 10, 2025, Petersen expressed his reaction to initial reports about Kirk, stating: “Shocked and saddened to hear the news about Charlie Kirk. Prayers for a full recovery.”
Later that day, he shared an update reflecting new developments: “I am absolutely shocked, sickened and outraged to hear about the passing of Charlie Kirk. Today was a dark day where evil was on full display. He was singular, indispensable and irreplaceable. America will not be the same without him.”
The following morning, Petersen commented further: “They could not handle losing the debate and the next generation of voters.”
Petersen has served in the Arizona State Senate since 2023 after succeeding David Gowan as senator for District 14.
