University of Phoenix has announced the release of four new episodes of its podcast, Degrees of Success. The podcast highlights the stories of University alumni who have achieved significant success despite facing challenges. Freda Richards, a Digital Campaign Manager and doctoral student at the University, hosts the series.
“Degrees of Success is a platform where our alumni’s extraordinary stories come to life, showcasing their resilience and the transformative power of education,” said April Worden, Director of Alumni and Career GTM at University of Phoenix. “Each episode is a journey through their triumphs and challenges, and it is an incredible privilege to share these narratives that motivate and empower our listeners.”
The twelfth episode features Brian Dickinson, an alum who summited Everest solo but was struck with snow blindness during his descent. “I went snow blind,” Dickinson shares. He explains that while recovery from snow blindness typically takes about 24 hours, he did not regain his eyesight for a month and a half.
The podcast now has fifteen episodes available, with new ones released on the first and last Thursday each month:
Episode 13 covers military leadership through the experiences of Shirley Dominick, a retired Air Force officer who founded Willing Warriors. She discusses her journey from growing up on a farm in South Carolina to becoming a leader in the military.
Episode 14 addresses human trafficking with Kylie Glendenning, a recent graduate advocating for awareness and victim support. She shares stories fueling her fight against child exploitation.
Episode 15 tells Dr. Juana Lang’s story, an immigrant who escaped Cuba on a raft while pregnant before establishing herself as an educator in the United States.
