The University of Phoenix has been recognized by the Phoenix Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) with two ADDY Awards. The institution received a Gold ADDY Award for its video titled “The New Workforce” and a Bronze ADDY Award for “Driven,” which honors the determination of its graduates. The awards were presented at a ceremony on March 7, 2025, at The Duce in Phoenix.

“Great creative has been a hallmark of University of Phoenix,” stated Steve Gross, Chief Marketing Officer. “It’s rewarding to see the team continue to produce excellent work that generates results and then get honored with these two ADDY awards.”

The awards were given in two categories: Elements of Advertising (Video Editing) and Film, Video, and Online Sound Branded Content (Entertainment). Senior Creative Director Chad Garnes remarked, “At University of Phoenix, our success is a testament to the collaborative spirit and innovative approach of our entire team. By deeply understanding our audience and focusing on impactful storytelling, we’ve been able to create engaging content that resonates with our community.”

According to the AAF, the ADDY Awards are part of the advertising industry’s largest competition, attracting over 25,000 entries annually in local AAF Ad Club competitions. These awards aim to recognize excellence in advertising creativity. Conducted annually by the AAF, local winners like those from University of Phoenix advance through district competitions before reaching the national level.

Entries are judged based on creative dimensions, with a Gold ADDY indicating superior creative excellence within its category. Outstanding entries also receive Silver ADDYs.

The University of Phoenix has previously won ADDY awards from this chapter in 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2020.
