Founded in 1976, the University of Phoenix has evolved from a traditional campus-based institution into one offering both a physical campus in Phoenix and online delivery. Our learning model is built to connect academic rigor with career-relevant skills, so students can acquire knowledge and skills they can use in professional settings as industries and technologies continue to evolve.”

The university reports continuous accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission since 1978 according to the official website. In addition, it awarded its one millionth digital badge in 2026 as part of its efforts toward skills-aligned learning.
