University of Phoenix representatives will participate in the Jobs for the Future (JFF) Horizons Summit, scheduled for June 10-11, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The panel titled “Career Ecosystems in Action: Helping Advance Learning to Earning” will take place on June 11 from 1:10 PM to 2:00 PM CT. University leaders Christina Neider, Ed.D., Leo Goncalves, and Sandip Bhakta will discuss building a career-connected education ecosystem that bridges academic learning with job readiness.
The JFF Horizons event focuses on innovation within the learn and work ecosystem under the theme “Dare To Be Brave.” As a partner and supporting sponsor of the summit, University of Phoenix aims to provide insights into creating scalable models for career-centered learning.
“University of Phoenix designs academic programs from a deep understanding of career-focused working adult learners,” stated Dr. Neider. She emphasized how their programs equip students with market-relevant skills and tools necessary for transforming educational achievements into career milestones.
Leo Goncalves noted the importance of connecting education with employment needs. “Today’s learners want more than credentials; they want career progress,” he said. He highlighted how the university’s ecosystem aligns student learning with employer requirements to facilitate talent mobility.
Sandip Bhakta will introduce attendees to Career Navigator, a platform offering personalized career guidance. “Within the Career Navigator, students can build a robust career profile by capturing skills demonstrated in various experiences,” Bhakta explained.
The session will also address collaboration with over 2,000 employers through Adaptable Skills Solutions. This initiative includes customized workforce assessments developed alongside SkillmoreÔ, an affiliate providing professional development and discounted education benefits.
Neider brings over three decades of experience spanning academia, healthcare, and military service in the United States Air Force. Goncalves leads national Workforce Solutions efforts while Bhakta focuses on developing digital solutions for student success.
The Horizons Summit aligns with JFF’s goal to ensure that by 2033, 75 million people facing economic barriers secure quality jobs.
