Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell has announced the indictment of Eric Curtis Chapman on 20 counts related to sexual conduct and exploitation of minors. Chapman, whose date of birth is November 1981, was arrested by Phoenix Police after a social media provider reported suspicious activity to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The investigation revealed several victims connected to Chapman. Prosecutors from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office have charged him with nine counts of sexual conduct with a minor, classified as Class Two Felonies, and ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, also classified as Class Two Felonies and considered dangerous crimes against children.
Chapman is currently held in jail on a $250,000 cash bond. This means he must pay the full amount to secure his release. It is important to note that “a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”
