Maricopa County has introduced a new online permitting system, known as Permit Center, consolidating existing systems across county departments into a comprehensive platform for permit reviews, inspections, payments, and more.

"For several years now, we’ve been expanding online permitting services to make it more convenient for customers to submit and receive the information that helps them complete a project," said Board of Supervisors Chairman Jack Sellers, District 1. "With the launch of Permit Center, we are making the process more intuitive, giving customers access to all of our permitting agencies in one place."

The new system includes a dashboard feature where customers can view all their permit activity, including the status of active permits, outstanding invoices, and inspections. An Application Helper guides users through a series of questions to direct them appropriately. Additionally, extensive GIS mapping capabilities enhance the user experience.

"Individuals and businesses across our region have amazing ideas for how to build and grow; our job is to make that process as hassle-free as possible while also protecting public safety," said Vice Chairman Thomas Galvin, District 2. "Permit Center gives residents, developers, contractors and others a better real-time view of the status of their project, plus connections to resources to help them get the job done."

County departments using Permit Center include Environmental Services (ENV), Planning & Development (PND), the Flood Control District (FCD), and the Department of Transportation (MCDOT). Air Quality (AQ) permits will continue to be managed in their current system but can be accessed via Permit Center.

Projects involving food, air quality, other environmental factors or flood control within unincorporated Maricopa County will require a Maricopa County permit. Customers can register for an account at Maricopa.gov/permitcenter.
