The city of Phoenix is accepting applications for the 2023 spring Sustainable Cooperative Food Business training program.
"Past participants have teamed up to design food-based businesses such as sustainable farms, food trucks and more, proving the value of the program," environmental programs administrator Nancy Allen said in a news release.
For people of Phoenix who are interested in working together to develop a sustainable cooperative food company, the city and Thrive Consultancy Inc. are uniting to provide their free 2023 spring Sustainable Cooperative Food Business training program. Participants will collaborate with their peers to build business strategies, start-up budgets, and marketing pitches for a jointly formed sustainable cooperative food business idea.
“This 10-week program is a great opportunity for local aspiring food entrepreneurs to connect and receive training at no cost," Allen said in the release. "We are excited to be a part of a program that gives back to our community and supports sustainability."
Beginning Jan. 30 and continuing through April 5 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m., downtown Phoenix will host biweekly training sessions. Only 25 spots are available for the program, and in order to graduate, each participant must stay for the full 10 weeks.
