Senator Mark Finchem voices support for transparency and recent Arizona Senate actions

Senator Mark Finchem, a Republican representing Arizona’s 1st Senate District since his election in 2025, has recently used his social media platform to address several political issues, including government transparency, public trust, and legislative efforts in the state.

On February 24, 2026, Finchem expressed his views on government fees for accessing public records. In his post, he stated: “I’ve always found it offensive that political subdivisions of the State, and even the State itself, charge a fee for PUBLIC RECORDS. Think about it, #sunshine is the best disinfectant, the People have a right to direct oversight.” This statement highlights his position on transparency and public oversight within government institutions.

Two days later, on February 25, 2026, Finchem posted another message addressing what he perceives as manipulation or deception affecting Americans: “America, you’ve been played!”

On February 26, 2026, Finchem commented on recent legislative activity in Arizona’s Senate. He wrote: “Proud to help Senate Republicans pass strong bills protecting Arizona kids and restoring commonsense standards against woke indoctrination.”

Finchem succeeded Ken Bennett in representing Arizona’s 1st Senate District after winning the seat in the 2025 elections.
