Senator Mark Finchem highlights recent Arizona legislation and criticizes Democratic opposition

Senator Mark Finchem, a Republican representing Arizona’s 1st Senate District since 2025, has recently used his social media platform to comment on legislative developments and criticize political opponents.

On March 10, 2026, Finchem announced the passage of SB1434 in the Arizona Senate, a bill he co-sponsored. He stated: “Victory against political persecution: Arizona Senate passed SB1434 that I co-sponsored, guaranteeing jury trials for attorneys facing weaponized lawfare – no more radical left kangaroo courts deciding fates.”

Shortly after, Finchem highlighted legislative efforts related to minors and gender transitions. On the same day, he posted: “Strong push to protect our kids: Multiple bills I sponsor or back, including my SB1095 banning gender transitions on minors, advanced to the Senate floor – Democrats stood alone opposing safeguards for children.”

Later that day, Finchem criticized Democratic lawmakers regarding national security issues. He wrote: “Proof that Democrats care about 1 thing. POWER, even if gained illegitimately. #pathetic shutting down DHS knowing full well that Biden and Mayorkus let sleeper cells into the U.S. is treachery of the highest order.”

Finchem succeeded Ken Bennett as state senator following his election in 2025.
