Senator Mark Finchem, a Republican representing Arizona’s 1st Senate District since 2025, recently highlighted several initiatives and developments in state government oversight and border security through a series of posts on his social media account.

On December 19, 2025, Finchem posted about the activities of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC), stating: “BREAKING: Chairman Finchem drives JLAC to historic highs in audits and recommendations, slamming government waste and pushing real accountability for Arizona taxpayers.”

Shortly after, he addressed border security measures in Southern Arizona. In a post dated December 19, 2025, he wrote: “CBP seeks input on massive 222-mile smart border wall in Southern AZ with barriers, sensors, and roads to crush illegal crossings.”

Later that day, Finchem announced support for local law enforcement efforts. He stated: “Proud to push for $2M in funding to build a cutting-edge Criminal Intelligence Center for the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office! This will help stop human trafficking, drug cartels, and smuggling in real time. Keeping our communities safe!”

Finchem was elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2025 after serving as a member of the House of Representatives. He succeeded Ken Bennett as senator for the state’s 1st Senate District.
