Senator Mark Finchem, a Republican representing Arizona’s 1st Senate District, recently posted updates on several legislative initiatives via his social media account.

On February 26, 2026, Finchem announced the advancement of a special education bill: “Big step forward: my SB1754 empowering parents in special education complaints just passed the Senate Education Committee – families over bureaucrats.”

Shortly after, he addressed legislation regarding gender transitions: “Multiple bills cracking down on dangerous gender transitions are heading to the Senate floor—I’m fighting to protect our children from radical agendas.” This post signals a focus on regulatory measures concerning medical procedures for minors.

Finchem also highlighted another legislative proposal: “My SB1755 bans judges from practicing law to end their blatant conflicts of interest – stopping the radical left’s weaponized courtroom games.”

Senator Finchem was elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2025, succeeding Ken Bennett as the representative for District 1. Since taking office, he has focused on education policy and judicial reform.
