Senator Mark Finchem, who was elected to the Arizona State Senate in 2025 to represent the state’s 1st Senate District, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing legislative and legal oversight issues.

On January 20, 2026, Finchem highlighted efforts to reform child welfare oversight. He stated, “SB-1149 strengthens oversight of DCS so we can put child safety first and hold a broken system accountable.”

Shortly after, he addressed concerns about legal ethics within the state. On the same day, he wrote, “I’m raising the alarm as an attorney disbarment case exposes troubling questions about bias within the State Bar that must be addressed.”

In another post dated January 20, 2026, Finchem referenced legislation related to healthcare for transgender individuals. He said, “By championing SB-1095, I’m protecting children and preventing your tax dollars from being used to fund harmful transgender procedures.”

Finchem succeeded Ken Bennett as senator for Arizona’s 1st Senate District following his election in 2025. As a Republican legislator, he has focused on issues involving child protection and government accountability.
