Republic Services earns Great Place to Work certification for ninth consecutive year

Republic Services, Inc. has been recognized as a Great Place to Work for the ninth year in a row. The certification is given by Great Place to Work, an organization that evaluates workplace culture and employee experience based on feedback from employees.

The company employs 42,000 full-time workers and focuses on attracting and retaining talent through a people-first strategy. According to Republic Services, this approach aims to build a sense of belonging and provide opportunities for employees to grow within the organization.

Courtney Rodriguez, chief human resources officer at Republic Services, said, “At Republic Services, we are committed to creating a workforce that represents the communities and customers we serve, and to ensuring that all employees feel safe, respected, welcomed, heard and valued. This foundation empowers our people to live our values and deliver world-class service to our customers.”

In the most recent survey conducted by Great Place to Work, 83% of 5,000 randomly selected employees indicated they believe Republic Services is a great place to work. This figure surpasses the national average of 57%. Additionally, 90% reported feeling welcome upon joining the company, while 87% felt included regardless of their position.

Over the past year, Republic Services has also received recognition from other organizations. It was named among Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable Companies (https://www.barrons.com/advisor/investing/barrons-100-most-sustainable-companies-2024-9d7e0bfa), included in Fortune’s list of World’s Most Admired Companies (https://fortune.com/ranking/worlds-most-admired-companies/2024/search/), and listed as one of Forbes America’s Best Employers for Women (https://www.forbes.com/lists/best-employers-women/).

Great Place to Work uses employee surveys and validated methodology to assess companies around the world on factors such as leadership behaviors and workplace culture.
