The Republic Services Charitable Foundation, together with Republic Services, Inc., has announced the recipients of its 2026 National Neighborhood Promise grants. Fourteen nonprofit organizations across the United States will receive funding to support a variety of community revitalization and improvement projects.

The National Neighborhood Promise program aims to strengthen neighborhoods by supporting nonprofit groups in areas where Republic Services operates. Since its inception, the initiative has reached over 14 million people throughout North America.

Alongside financial support, Republic Services employees will participate in a day of service at each grant site. They will work with local nonprofit partners on projects intended to directly benefit their communities.

“At Republic Services, we support communities in ways that make a lasting positive impact for our neighbors,” said Elena Goodhall, director of community investment for Republic Services. “Our nonprofit partners are leading positive change in our neighborhoods, and we aim to help foster stronger, more resilient communities.”

The total amount distributed through this year’s grants is $2.9 million. The foundation expects these funds to impact about 1.7 million people nationwide. Projects funded include green spaces, playgrounds, community gardens, workforce development initiatives and resources for vulnerable populations—all designed to improve quality of life and encourage thriving neighborhoods.

“This generous investment from Republic Services will help transform Archdale Village Park and Playground into the safe, vibrant green space this community needs,” said Jodi Valenta, associate vice president and Massachusetts state director for Trust for Public Land. “Trust for Public Land is committed to ensuring every Boston resident has access to high-quality parks and green spaces, and this investment reflects what is possible when public, private and community partners come together around a shared vision.”

The foundation’s efforts align with Republic Services’ broader sustainability goals for 2030, which focus on building sustainable neighborhoods through partnerships expected to benefit 45 million people.
