Providence Place at Glencroft was the second largest nursing facility in Maricopa County during the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shows.

The site offered 225 beds—107 more than Maricopa County’s average for the period—and maintained an average daily resident count of 106.8 for the quarter.

The CMS gave Providence Place at Glencroft an overall rating of 3 stars out of 5, which falls below the Arizona nursing home average of 3.4 stars.

Immanuel Campus of Care led the county as the largest nursing home with 228 beds available in the quarter, while Life Care Center of North Glendale ranked third with 223 beds.

Providence Place at Glencroft reported no fines or penalties during the first quarter of 2026.

Eight non-profit nursing homes operated in Maricopa County, Arizona, during the period.

U.S. Census Bureau data shows the population of older adults is rising, while the population under 18 has declined. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans age 65 and older increased by 13%, compared to a 1.7% drop for those under 18. The nation’s older adult population has expanded significantly since 1920, from 4.9 million to over 61 million as of 2024.

A 2021 report estimated that nearly 28 million older Americans may need long-term care and services. The report also indicated that more than a third could ultimately require nursing home stays.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
