Approaching its 80th season, The Phoenix Symphony has announced the launch of Crescendo, a $60-million fundraising campaign. This initiative focuses on enhancing artistic excellence, education, and community engagement. With $10 million already secured in leadership gifts, the campaign aims to support growth in music education for youth throughout the Valley, expand accessible programming, and enrich cultural and economic vitality.
Crescendo is designed to strengthen community impact with a strategy that reaches diverse age groups and backgrounds. Through wellness programs at facilities such as assisted living centers and hospitals, local musicians will perform live music to offer a sense of shared humanity. Additionally, the program aims to integrate music into STEM learning by collaborating with initiatives like Symphony for the Schools and Mind Over Music.
The campaign also seeks to enhance concert experiences at Symphony Hall with a funding goal of $20 million. Attendees can expect innovative programming such as Beethoven x Beyonce conducted by Steve Hackman.
“Crescendo is about ensuring that future generations continue to experience the beauty, creativity and inspiration that orchestral music brings to our lives,” said Matt Feeney, campaign co-chair. “This campaign is an investment in the cultural vitality of our entire community.”
The Phoenix Symphony plans to continue inviting guest conductors and featured artists while promoting elevated performances that differ from traditional orchestra presentations.
