As the 2024/25 season comes to a close, Peter Kjome, President and CEO of The Phoenix Symphony, expressed gratitude and optimism in a recent update. He highlighted the progress made during the season and emphasized the shared dedication that is propelling the organization toward a promising future.
Kjome noted that the season was characterized by artistic excellence, stronger community connections, and meaningful growth. “We are moving forward with energy and focus,” he stated, pointing to increased ticket sales and key commitments as evidence of positive momentum.
In recent weeks, over 10,000 audience members attended performances. Beyond concerts, musicians from The Phoenix Symphony have engaged with the community through various programs at locations like Lodestar Day Resource Center and St. Vincent de Paul. A notable collaboration occurred when young musicians from the Academy Drum and Bugle Corps joined the Symphony for a performance at Symphony Hall.
The Crescendo Campaign for The Phoenix Symphony has also seen significant progress. Over $10 million has been committed towards its $60 million goal. This includes a $1 million commitment from Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust to establish an endowed position held by Tammy Rocker.
Looking ahead to the 2025/26 season, Kjome promised exceptional musical experiences that would continue to inspire and enrich lives across the community. The search for a new music director is ongoing.
Kjome acknowledged the contributions of musicians, board members, staff, and community leaders in advancing The Phoenix Symphony’s mission. He invited feedback from supporters via email at [email protected].
Finally, Kjome informed patrons of scheduled maintenance on their ticketing system from May 1st to May 2nd.
