The Phoenix Symphony is preparing for its 2025-26 season, which will include a variety of performances ranging from classical and popular music to film scores, holiday events, and family concerts. The season’s opening will feature the newly named Jeanne L. Herberger Classical Series.
A key event for the upcoming season is the Symphony Gala on October 11. Composer Danny Elfman will perform in a program honoring music from Tim Burton’s films. The gala aims to highlight the impact of music in the community.
Peter Kjome, President and CEO of The Phoenix Symphony, expressed appreciation for supporters of CRESCENDO: The Campaign for The Phoenix Symphony, launched last April. He noted ongoing discussions with donors and credited early progress to their support.
Kjome also reflected on the recent passing of Laura R. Grafman, calling her “an extraordinary leader whose passing this year leaves a deep absence in our community.” He described her as “a mentor and friend who reinforced the power of careful listening and how this simple act can lead to the magic of meeting needs and changing lives.”
The symphony continues its Community Engagement & Education programs, reaching over 100,000 people in Arizona annually through initiatives focused on education, health and wellness, and Mind Over Music.
Kjome mentioned that efforts are ongoing to appoint the next Virginia G. Piper Music Director. He encouraged members of the community to visit the symphony’s website for more information about its musicians, board members, foundation board, and staff.
The symphony announced that its ticketing system would be temporarily unavailable from May 1 at 9:00 PM until May 2 at 6:00 AM due to scheduled maintenance.
Kjome concluded his message by inviting feedback from patrons and expressing anticipation for seeing them at future performances.
