Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has issued several updates on its official Twitter account regarding ongoing projects, recognition in national awards, and staff achievements.
On September 5, 2025, the airport announced the closure of Buckeye Rd between Copperhead Dr and 25th Pl for the Taxiway U Project. The post stated: “Buckeye Rd (Copperhead Dr to 25th Pl) is currently closed until further notice for Taxiway U Project work at PHX. Terminal access is NOT affected. This project improves airfield safety/operations. Use detours and download the Taxiway U app. Info: https://t.co/7jj05l1SXT https://t.co/9twy5Kfz2O”. The airport emphasized that terminal access remains unaffected during construction.
On September 8, 2025, Phoenix Sky Harbor shared its participation in a national competition by posting: “PHX is in the running for 5 categories in the USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards including Best Large Airport. Vote daily through Oct. 6 and help us reach the top .” The voting period continues through October 6.
Later that day, another tweet highlighted an employee’s long-standing contributions to the airport’s operations: “Zeino D. has been helping PHX shine for 22 years . He’s led teams, boosted morale and even won an FAA contest with a solar energy design. Here’s to Zeino and to 90 years of Sky Harbor: https://t.co/vyzpHvuv8n https://t.co/QavDLxEzg4”.
