Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has highlighted recent developments in its sustainability initiatives and travel offerings through a series of social media posts. The airport, managed by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department, announced achievements in environmental programs and encouraged travelers to plan their next trips.

On January 26, 2026, the airport posted: “The Phoenix Sky Harbor Sustainability team has recertified founding-member @SouthwestAir in the Green Business Partner Program to gold tier! A day later, on January 27, 2026, Phoenix Sky Harbor used Travel Tuesday and National Plan for Vacation Day as an opportunity to promote its travel options: “It’s Travel Tuesday and National Plan for Vacation Day, a perfect sign to start planning that trip on your bucket list! Later that same day, the airport celebrated another milestone in its sustainability efforts with a post stating: “Congrats to the Phoenix Sky Harbor Sustainability team for welcoming Half Moon Empanadas into the Green Business Partner Program! Phoenix Sky Harbor has recently expanded flight services. On August 10, 2022, Breeze Airways announced it would begin service from Phoenix to Charleston, South Carolina and Provo, Utah operating twice weekly from Terminal 3 (source). Leadership changes have also taken place; Roxann Favors was named Assistant Director/Chief Revenue Officer for the City of Phoenix Aviation Department in August 2022 (source), while Jay DeWitt was appointed Assistant Director/Chief Development Officer around the same time (source). Both bring years of management experience within city operations.

These announcements reflect ongoing efforts by Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to improve both sustainability practices and customer service through expanded travel options and operational leadership.
