Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport shared updates this week highlighting its sustainability initiatives, educational outreach, and local amenities for travelers.

On April 16, the airport promoted its latest newsletter issue with a focus on environmental efforts. In a tweet, Phoenix Sky Harbor stated: “Read the newest edition of PHX Check-In with stories about Sustainability and Earth Day at PHX, the Arizona Forward Environmental Excellence Awards, a preview of Volunteer Appreciation Week, and more! Find this month’s issue in the PHX Check-In at https://t.co/yBzwoBzCRa. https://t.co/iVIpzfHot3”.

Later that day, the airport highlighted its engagement with students through a STEAM-focused event. On April 16, it posted: “We had a blast at our SOAR with STEAM event today! Visiting students got to participate in activities and learn about airplanes and Aviation science, along with other Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics topics, including checking out a @SouthwestAir plane! https://t.co/8mIsxmPMVj”.

The following day on April 17, Phoenix Sky Harbor spotlighted one of its terminal dining options. The tweet read: “Grab a taste of Arizona at O.H.S.O. Brewery at Phoenix Sky Harbor! @ohsobrewery has been serving #PHX travelers since 2014, and you can find it in Terminal 4 near Gate B9 serving local brews, grill favorites and The Phoenix craft cocktail. Open 5 a.m.–10 p.m. daily. https://t.co/HDW2WnMnZc”.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has seen recent developments aimed at expanding service and leadership within its operations. In August 2022, Breeze Airways announced new routes from Phoenix to Charleston and Provo operating twice weekly from Terminal 3 (source). Around the same time, Roxann Favors was named Assistant Director/Chief Revenue Officer for the City of Phoenix Aviation Department after nearly two decades in city management (source). Additionally, Jay DeWitt was appointed as Assistant Director/Chief Development Officer overseeing planning and financial management divisions (source).
