Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has announced several recent initiatives and events through its official social media account, highlighting programs for travelers with dementia, appreciation efforts for law enforcement, and activities designed for children.

On January 9, 2026, the airport shared information about a new program aimed at supporting passengers and caregivers of people with dementia. According to the post, “PHX is proud to offer a Dementia Friendly Air Travel Workshop to passengers and caregivers of people with dementia to help make air travel manageable and a positive experience. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Jan. 21, learn more at https://t.co/DIwlcdgwK5 https://t.co/M0Wspa0l4B” (posted January 9, 2026).

Later that same day, Phoenix Sky Harbor recognized National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day by illuminating its facilities in blue as a tribute to police officers. The tweet read: “In honor and appreciation of all the law enforcement officers who help keep our airport safe, we will be turning our PHX Sky Train lights at the Rental Car Center and 24th Street Stations blue tonight for National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. https://t.co/0WtIDKiQOC” (posted January 9, 2026).

On January 12, the airport promoted resources available for families traveling with children. The message stated: “Traveling with kids soon? These announcements come amid ongoing developments at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. In August 2022, Breeze Airways began offering new services from Phoenix to Charleston and Provo twice weekly from Terminal 3 (source). Around the same time in August 2022, Roxann Favors was appointed Assistant Director and Chief Revenue Officer for the City of Phoenix Aviation Department after nearly two decades of management experience within city government (source). Additionally, Jay DeWitt was named Assistant Director and Chief Development Officer responsible for planning and development functions within the aviation department (source).
