Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has announced several updates for travelers and the local community, including upcoming road closures, a dementia-friendly workshop, and a fitness trail inside Terminal 4.
On January 6, 2026, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport posted an update regarding nighttime road closures: “Starting Sunday, Jan. 11, Eastbound Sky Harbor Blvd on the north side of Terminal 3 will close nightly, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Terminal access will remain open. If you’re driving to PHX, please follow our recommended tips for smooth drop-offs and pickups.” (January 6, 2026).
The airport also shared information about an upcoming event designed to support people with dementia and their caregivers: “We’re hosting a free workshop on Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon to help people with dementia and their care providers learn how to navigate a busy airport. An optional two-hour tour of PHX will follow. To register or learn more, email skyharbor@phoenix.gov” (January 7, 2026).
Additionally, the airport highlighted its fitness amenities for travelers passing through Terminal 4: “The next time you’re at Phoenix Sky Harbor, pass the time by walking the Sky Harbor Fitness Trail! Phoenix Sky Harbor’s Terminal 3 is home to new services such as Breeze Airways flights to Charleston and Provo that began in November of 2022. These flights operate twice weekly out of this terminal. The Aviation Department has also seen leadership changes in recent years; Roxann Favors was appointed Assistant Director/Chief Revenue Officer in August of 2022 after nearly two decades working within City of Phoenix management, while Jay DeWitt was named Assistant Director/Chief Development Officer that same month overseeing planning and development operations.
