Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has announced several updates for travelers and the local community through a series of posts on its official Twitter account in May 2026.
On May 12, 2026, the airport informed customers about a new service at its Rental Car Center. According to the post, “Order ahead, because now you can! You can now place your order ahead at the Phoenix Magazine Café and Market in the Rental Car Center, so your food & drinks can be ready for pick-up at the counter when you arrive. Order at https://t.co/yR4HMGDU9G https://t.co/jh1WGHTcx4”.
Later that day, Phoenix Sky Harbor reminded residents about upcoming Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) workshops. The tweet from May 12 reads: “Reminder: the FAA is hosting 4 virtual public workshops as part of the Phoenix Area FAA Modernization Project. Info is on our website as well as info from community presentations about the project and proposed impacts. Learn more about https://t.co/17Lsmi2CFW https://t.co/XGQMoNZhTI”.
On May 14, another update featured a local business owner operating within the airport. The post stated: “Hear from Corey Zollinger, owner of Shorty’s Sandwich Shop, a distributor of popular subs, snacks and lunchtime goodies at Phoenix Sky Harbor. https://t.co/dQ9mDEH9JR”.
Phoenix Sky Harbor has experienced several recent developments. In August 2022, Breeze Airways began offering flights from Terminal 3 to Charleston, South Carolina and Provo, Utah twice weekly (source). Additionally, Roxann Favors was named Assistant Director and Chief Revenue Officer for the City of Phoenix Aviation Department in August 2022 after nearly two decades with city management (source). On the same date, Jay DeWitt was appointed Assistant Director and Chief Development Officer for the department; he oversees planning, environmental matters, design and construction services, and financial management (source).
