The City of Phoenix announced on March 25 that it is seeking input from residents about accessibility for people with disabilities in city facilities and programs. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and improve access across Phoenix.
The public’s feedback will help identify barriers to access and prioritize improvements, making it important for individuals living with disabilities to share their experiences. The ADA Self-Evaluation process began in August 2021 and is scheduled to continue through January 2028.
According to the City of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department, “Community input is valuable to help ensure the City continues to provide access for people with disabilities through its facilities and programs. This survey will also assist in the prioritization of proposed improvements.” Residents are encouraged to participate by completing a survey designed for this purpose.
More information about Phoenix’s commitment to ADA compliance can be found at Phoenix.gov/ada. The Equal Opportunity Department offers services such as accessibility compliance programming, economic opportunities for small and disadvantaged businesses, investigation of discrimination cases, as well as outreach and education activities.
