Two coordinators from the Jobs for Arizona’s Graduates (JAG) program have received national awards from Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG National) in recognition of their work supporting students’ transition to post-secondary opportunities.
Holly Gorman, who serves as a coordinator at Paradise Valley High School, has earned the “6 of 6” Award for the eleventh year in a row. She achieved this distinction for both the Legacy and Alternative JAG programs. Gorman also received the Outstanding Specialist Award, acknowledging her efforts to build strong connections with students, and the Mountain Mover Award after assisting her students in securing over $3.7 million in scholarships this year.
At Shadow Mountain High School, Krystal Booher was recognized with her first “6 of 6” Award and named Rookie of the Year. These honors reflect her dedication to helping students move successfully from high school into further education or employment.
The “6 of 6” Award is given to programs that meet or surpass national benchmarks in six categories: graduation rate, employment rate, full-time jobs rate, positive outcomes rate, further education rate, and full-time placement rate.
JAG operates school-to-career programs designed to provide students with 37 core competencies such as employability skills, leadership development, career exploration, civic engagement, and social awareness.
