The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for the position of White Tank Justice Precinct Constable following the resignation of Mark Sinclair, effective November 9, 2025.
The White Tank Justice Precinct includes areas northwest and southwest of Goodyear and Avondale up to Buckeye, covering Supervisorial Districts 4 and 5. The constable’s duties include executing, serving, and returning processes, warrants, and notices, as well as attending justice courts when required.
According to the board, “By law, the appointee must be a Republican, like Sinclair, live in the White Tank Justice Precinct, and be a registered Arizona voter. The appointee will fill the position through the remainder of the term, which ends on December 31, 2026.”
Interested candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest and resume to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors by email at clerkboard@maricopa.gov or by mail to Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 301 W. Jefferson St., Phoenix, AZ 85003 (10th floor). Applications will be accepted until Friday, December 5 at 5pm. All documents submitted will become public records and applicants will undergo a background check.

In other county news related to education outcomes, recent data show that in Maricopa County during the 2023-24 school year, only 36% of students in grades three through eight passed the mathematics section of the AASA exam (source). For high schoolers taking the ACT in mathematics during that same period, just under 34% passed (source).
