The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for the position of East Mesa Justice Precinct Constable following the resignation of Rustin Pearce, effective June 3, 2025. The precinct includes areas east of Mesa and northeast of Gilbert, such as Falcon Field, within Supervisorial District 2.
Constables are responsible for executing and serving legal documents including warrants and notices, as well as attending justice courts when required. The vacancy will be filled by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. State law requires that the appointee must be a registered Republican, reside in the East Mesa Justice Precinct, and be an Arizona voter. The selected individual will serve for the remainder of Pearce’s term.

Maricopa County continues to address community needs in various sectors including education. Recent data show that during the 2023-24 school year, about 36% of students from grades three through eight passed the mathematics section on statewide assessments according to information from https://www.azed.gov/. For high schoolers taking standardized tests during that same period, approximately 33.9% passed mathematics sections based on results also available at https://www.azed.gov/.
