Arizona State Representative Justin Wilmeth, a Republican elected in 2022 to represent the state’s 2nd House District, recently used his social media platform to highlight developments in state politics and space exploration.

On April 2, 2026, Wilmeth announced the premiere of his new political program: “Check out the debut episode of Legislative Oversight with Justin Wilmeth – your weekly look at the information and oddities in Arizona state politics.”

Later that day, he shared his experience delivering remarks on the Arizona House Floor regarding NASA’s Artemis II mission. In his post from April 2, 2026, Wilmeth stated: “I was more than elated today to give a speech on the House Floor commemorating the launch of @NASAArtemis II – America’s official return to the Moon. Arizona has played a hand in every Moon mission, from Apollo to Artemis. Our Space legacy and traditions in Arizona are great and”

In a subsequent message posted on April 2, 2026, Wilmeth reflected on witnessing past space launches as a member of Generation X: “I’m one of those late-stage Gen Xers who watched that live on tv. Gotta admit, I had a natural fear of that happening again about 73 seconds into yesterday’s launch.”

Wilmeth succeeded Daniel Hernández Jr. after being elected to the Arizona State House in 2022.
