Arizona State Representative Justin Wilmeth, a Republican elected in 2022 to represent the state’s 2nd House District, recently posted a series of tweets discussing topics ranging from astronomy to presidential history.
On May 14, 2026, Wilmeth shared an enthusiastic comment alongside an image, stating: “What a shot!”
The following day, May 15, he highlighted Pluto’s status as Arizona’s State Planet and referenced NASA’s New Horizons mission. Wilmeth wrote: “Check out this image of Arizona’s State Planet – Pluto. The New Horizons spacecraft recorded images of Pluto back in 2015 and revealed it to be a truly fascinating place. Mountains reaching 11,000 feet high (some say closer to 20k), made of water ice. Plains of frozen nitrogen.”
Later on May 15, Wilmeth posed a question about U.S. presidential history, tweeting: “Most consequential one-term President ever? Questions like that are always open to debate, but it’s an interesting discussion.”
Wilmeth has served in the Arizona State House since his election in 2022, succeeding Daniel Hernández Jr., and is affiliated with the Republican Party.
