Arizona State Representative Justin Wilmeth shared a series of posts on April 7, 2026, expressing enthusiasm about recent lunar exploration achievements and the progress of space-related initiatives in his state.
In his first post, Wilmeth quoted lyrics from Pink Floyd: ” And if the band you’re in starts playing different tunes I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon…” (April 7, 2026).
Shortly after, he commented on new lunar images: “These new photos are insanely amazing! So beautiful. The TENTH time America has been to the Moon in some capacity. “ (April 7, 2026).
Later that day, Wilmeth reflected on his involvement with Arizona’s space efforts: “Seeing this makes my space-loving heart smile. It’s something akin to being a proud father for me, as I ran the bill creating the Arizona Space Commission a few years ago. Knowing that this license plate will soon exist and help fund the Commission is great news. I’m so proud of” (April 7, 2026).
Wilmeth, a Republican who was elected to represent Arizona’s 2nd House District in 2022 after Daniel Hernández Jr., has played an active role in promoting aerospace initiatives within the state.
