The nonprofit organization Jazmine’s Journey will host a community hike on March 28 at North Mountain to raise money for pediatric cancer research and honor children battling the disease.

The Jazmine’s Journey Hike for Pediatric Cancer Research is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at the North Mountain Visitor Center in Phoenix. Check-in begins at 6:45 a.m., and the hike will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Participants can register here.

Organizers say the event will bring together families, friends and supporters for a morning hike while raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research. Participants will gather at the visitor center before hiking trails in the North Mountain area, with attendees invited to complete the hike or attend to show support for the cause.

All funds raised through the event will be donated to Steele Children’s Research Center to support pediatric cancer research conducted through the Arizona-based program.

Founded by Amber Reiter in memory of her daughter, Jazmine’s Journey is a nonprofit organization focused on raising awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research while honoring children and families affected by the disease. The group organizes community events and fundraising efforts aimed at supporting medical research and providing hope for families facing pediatric cancer.

Pediatric cancer remains one of the leading causes of disease-related death among children in the United States, according to federal health data. Research institutions across the country conduct clinical trials and laboratory studies aimed at improving treatment options and survival rates for young patients.

The hike will take place at the North Mountain Visitor Center, located at 12950 N. 7th St. in Phoenix. Organizers say community members of all ages are invited to participate.

Registration for the event is open to the public, with organizers encouraging residents to take part in the hike or attend to support the cause.
