Veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett will start for the Arizona Cardinals in their upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Jonathan Gannon announced on Tuesday. This marks Brissett’s fourth consecutive start as Kyler Murray continues to recover from a foot injury.

“Kyler will keep working on his health bucket,” Gannon said, noting that he is not ruling Murray out for Sunday’s matchup. “I do like what the offense is doing right now, and we’ll go from there.”

Gannon emphasized the importance of clarity in team preparation: “The clarity that it provides gameplanning for our team, I think that’s important.” He also addressed questions about whether Brissett would remain the starter if Murray were healthy. “It’s a hypothetical to me, but yeah, I like where we are at with the offense moving forward.”

Reports have indicated that Murray’s injury could sideline him for four to eight weeks. Gannon did not rule out placing Murray on Injured Reserve and said he had not considered whether Murray might serve as backup if cleared to play this week.

“(Kyler) wants to be out there,” Gannon stated. “He’s a competitor, I talked to him today. He’s a good teammate and he wants to get healthy.”

Since Brissett took over as starting quarterback three games ago, Arizona has averaged 25.6 points per game—a notable increase compared to their performance in the first five games of the season. The Cardinals recently improved their record to 3-5 following a win against Dallas and are preparing for two key NFC West matchups against Seattle and San Francisco.

Brissett credited his teammates after Monday night’s victory over Dallas, saying he was not solely responsible for the offense’s improvement. Gannon echoed this sentiment: it was “all 11” players who contributed to raising their level of play.

Looking ahead to facing Seattle, Gannon remarked: “He added the Seahawks have the best defense the Cardinals will have faced in their current stretch.” He continued: “I do like how we are operating as an offense,” adding that he considers all variables before making decisions about personnel.

Separately, Arizona did not make any moves at Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. It is the first time general manager Monti Ossenfort has refrained from making a November trade since taking over; last year saw him send quarterback Joshua Dobbs to Minnesota and acquire linebacker Baron Browning from Denver.
