Horizon High School students Mitchell Weber and Averie Cowden won gold medals at the AIA Division II State Track and Field Championship, according to a May 15 announcement. Weber became the Division II Pole Vault State Champion by clearing 14 feet-6 inches, while Cowden secured first place in the girls’ Triple Jump with a distance of 39 feet-3 inches.
The achievements of Weber and Cowden highlight their dedication to training and sportsmanship during the season. Their success also reflects the support from coaches and teammates within Horizon High School.
