Steve Cortes, founder of the League of American Workers, said Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs has done a “miserable job” in office despite the state’s potential. He made the remarks on the Grand Canyon Times podcast.
“I clearly do not think very highly of Governor Hobbs,” said Cortes, Founder of League of American Workers. “I think she’s done a miserable job. And in a state that has so much going on that is positive and so much opportunity for the future.”
According to Cortes, Arizona’s population has increased as more Americans relocate to the state for its weather and economic opportunities. He argued that people do not move to Arizona for “radical policies like that of Katie Hobbs.”
Cortes highlighted Arizona’s economic opportunities, particularly in high-tech sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing. He noted that while the state has an environment conducive to growth and prosperity, Hobbs has failed to capitalize on these advantages.
Cortes praised the Arizona GOP legislature as “fantastic,” singling out Speaker Montenegro as “one of the most impressive young leaders in the entire country.” He expressed optimism about a competitive Republican primary for the Governor’s race in 2026 and suggested that Arizona could become a solidly red state, akin to Florida under Governor Ron DeSantis.
Cortes also raised concerns about election integrity in Arizona. He claimed that Hobbs’ decision to grant driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants could lead to voter registration issues. Citing polling data indicating that some non-citizens admit to voting, he advocated for legislation at both state and federal levels to protect election integrity from future administrative changes.
Steve Cortes is known for his work as a political commentator, financial market expert, and former campaign strategist with ties to Trump campaigns. As founder and president of the League of American Workers, he advocates for American workers’ rights and interests.
