Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell has revealed that Luis Antonio Gonzalez is facing serious charges, including multiple counts of assault, indecency, and sexual conduct. The accusations involve foster children who resided with Gonzalez in his home.
An investigation led by the Peoria Police Department led to these charges after a victim came forward with allegations of abuse by Gonzalez that occurred roughly three years ago. Two more victims reported experiencing similar abuse under Gonzalez’s care. As a result, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has pursued the following charges against Gonzalez:
– One count of public sexual indecency to a minor, a Class Five Felony.
– Two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, a Class Two Felony.
– Two counts of aggravated assault, a Class Six Felony.
– Three counts of molestation of a child, a Class Two Felony.
Gonzalez is currently detained with a secured appearance bond set at $150,000, requiring a 10-percent payment of the total sum for release.
It is important to note that the charges against Gonzalez are accusations at this stage, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
