Discount Tire and Team Penske have announced a multi-year extension of their partnership, which has lasted nearly 20 years. The agreement ensures Discount Tire will remain a major sponsor for Team Penske, including serving as the primary partner for the No. 2 Ford Mustang Dark Horse driven by Austin Cindric, winner of the 2022 DAYTONA 500. Discount Tire will also be a primary partner for Ryan Blaney’s No. 12 Ford Mustang Dark Horse at select events and an associate partner across all three Team Penske NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) entries. In 2026, Discount Tire will expand its role to include a primary partnership with Joey Logano and the No. 22 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for one race.
“Our partnership with Roger Penske and everyone at Team Penske is defined by a culture of winning and truly making dreams come true,” said Michael Zuieback, executive chairman at Discount Tire. “We look forward to celebrating many more victories on the track and activating our partnership in meaningful ways for our people, our customers, and all racing fans.”
During their collaboration, Team Penske has secured five NCS championships—three consecutively—and achieved significant wins such as Cindric’s DAYTONA 500 victory and two Fall Martinsville wins by Blaney in Discount Tire colors in 2023 and 2024.
Team Penske drivers participate in customer engagement activities at Discount Tire stores and take part in tire safety campaigns organized by the retailer.
“We are proud of Team Penske’s long-standing partnership with Discount Tire and the success we have had together, including multiple championships and a victory in the DAYTONA 500,” said Roger Penske. “Our companies share many of the same core values and this is a partnership that continues to deliver, both on and off the racetrack. We are excited to build on our success together now and into the future.”
The collaboration between Discount Tire and Team Penske has resulted in 38 race victories across NCS and NASCAR Grand National Series competitions, along with twelve combined championships since their alliance began. These wins make Discount Tire one of the most successful sponsors in Team Penske’s history.
The extended agreement also covers sponsorship within Team Penske’s NTT INDYCAR SERIES program. Both Discount Tire and its subsidiary Tire Rack will continue as associate sponsors for Josef Newgarden’s No. 2 Chevrolet, Scott McLaughlin’s No. 3 Chevrolet, and David Malukas’ No. 12 Chevrolet.
For the upcoming season, Discount Tire will be featured as primary sponsor during several key races including but not limited to: DAYTONA 500, Circuit of The Americas, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Michigan International Speedway, Sonoma Raceway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Phoenix Raceway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, and Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Austin Cindric will return behind the wheel of the No. 2 Ford Mustang Dark Horse at Daytona International Speedway when racing resumes February 15 at 2:30 p.m., broadcast live on Fox News.
Discount Tire operates over 1,250 stores across forty states under different brand names depending on location; it uses proprietary technology like Treadwell to recommend tires based on driver habits.
Team Penske is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary this year; since its first race entry in1966 it has amassed more than six hundred fifty major race wins worldwide across various series including open-wheel racing—such as twenty Indianapolis 500 victories—and stock car competition.
